PRO-TEC Coating Company

PRO-TEC Coating Company is a joint venture between United States Steel Corporation and Kobe Steel, Ltd., of Japan.  With more than a century of steelmaking leadership, these parent companies specifically selected northwest Ohio for its proximity to automotive customers and steelmaking facilities - all linked by efficient access to truck and rail transportation.

Since beginning operations in 1993, PRO-TEC has been a leader in processing advanced high-strength steel to the strict tolerances of demanding automotive applications.

This commitment to customer service and consistent quality earned them the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2007.  The award is the nation's highest Presidential honor for performance excellence through innovation, improvement, and visionary leadership.
