Nelson Manufacturing Company designs and builds custom semi-trailers for various industries. We specialize in the heavy haul and sensitive cargo markets. We offer trailers up to 200-ton capacity. Our trailers are used in aerospace, nuclear, mobile equipment, construction, and heavy haul industries. We also provide solutions for transporting hydraulic cranes with products such as boom dollies, boom launch trailers, and pin ‘n goes. We offer custom transportation solutions for specific projects.

The schedule below showcases a 40-hour work week. We are currently working 45 hours until the last week of May. The additional overtime is scheduled on Fridays for Shift A and Thursdays for Shift B.
Shift A: (40-hour schedule below.)
Monday – Thursday | 6:30 am – 4:00 pm
Friday | 6:30 am – 10:30 am (We are currently working until 4:00 pm on Friday)
Shift B: (40-hour schedule below.)
Sunday – Wednesday | 9:30 pm – 6:30 am
Thursday | 9:30 pm – 1:30 am (We are currently working until 6:30 am on Sunday)
Duties:
– Fabricate and weld metal components according to blueprints, work orders, and specifications
– Operate various power tools and equipment such as press brake machines, saws, grinders, and drills
– Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documents
– Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards
– Assist with material handling and inventory management
– Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
– Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Proven experience as a fabricator/welder or similar role
– Proficient in FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) and stick welding techniques
– Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and techniques
– Familiarity with machining operations and equipment
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
– Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a plus
– Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
– Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required
The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing basic math skills, and collaborating with the team to ensure efficient processes. Previous manufacturing painting experience and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles are advantageous for success in this position.
