Athletic Trainer

Summary

Leipsic High School is seeking a qualified and motivated Full-Time Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive athletic healthcare services for our athletic programs.  The athletic trainer will work closely with the student-athletes, coaches, administrators, parents, and healthcare providers to promote the health, safety, and well-being of all participants.

Position Type:  Full-Time, 10-month position

Anticipated Start Date:  August 2026

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for student athletes
  • Coordinate and manage care for student injuries
  • Attend and provide coverage for athletic practices and games
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and emergency action plans
  • Communicate effectively with coaches, parents/guardians, school administrators, and medical professionals
  • Assist with concussion management protocols and return-to-play decisions
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, and professional standards
  • Educate student-athletes on injury prevention, nutrition, hydration, and overall wellness
  • Other duties may include supervising the media center, lunch period(s) and study halls, coordinating weight training sessions, and monitoring the school’s digital learning program and/or work study program

Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in athletic training or related field
  • Current Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Eligible for or currently licensed in the state of Ohio
  • State/FBI criminal records check
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
