Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer who takes pride in precision machining and process optimization. This role is responsible for producing complex and high-tolerance machined components while owning the programming, setup, and machining strategy from print to finished part.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on solving machining challenges, optimizing cycle times, and producing parts that meet demanding tolerances and surface finish requirements.
This is a hands-on role for a machinist who values craftsmanship, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Interpret complex engineering drawings including GD&T, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Program vertical mills and lathes using Fusion 360, including CAM programming, toolpath strategy, and manual G-code edits **Haas and Fanuc controls.
- Develop efficient machining strategies including tool selection, speeds/feeds, and cycle optimization.
- Implement work holding solutions to maximize rigidity, repeatability, and throughput.
- Perform full machine setups including tooling, fixturing, and offset calibration.
- Monitor machining operations including milling, turning, and drilling to identify and prevent potential failures or quality issues.
- Troubleshoot machining problems including tool wear, surface finish issues, dimensional drift, and programming errors.
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure compliance with all dimensional and geometric tolerances.
- Adjust tool wear offsets and process parameters to maintain consistent part quality.
- Perform deburring and finishing processes to ensure high-quality final components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on CNC equipment and inspection tools.
- Maintain detailed job documentation including inspection records, setup notes, and time logs.
- Communicate production performance, machine issues, and improvement opportunities.
