
The CNC Machining – Department Supervisor will communicate with the Process Technician and be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to produce parts by due date and supervise machine operators under minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
Oversees the daily activities of the CNC machining team, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow
Coaches machinists in best practices, safety protocols, and new techniques, fostering their growth and development within the department
Assessing employee performance, providing constructive feedback, and addressing any performance issues, potentially involving Human Resources when necessary
Promote teamwork, open communication, and a culture of continuous improvement and safety within the department
Coordinate with production planners and other departments to ensure on-time delivery of finished parts, and make adjustments as needed to meet production targets
Oversee departmental expenses, including labor, tooling, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources
Accurately document production data, employee time, and any issues encountered during the manufacturing process
Effectively communicate production status, performance metrics, and any issues to upper management and collaborating with other departments
Designs and develops CNC programs. This involves developing cutting paths, adjusting feeds and speeds, setting tolerance levels, and considering material properties for optimal efficiency and accuracy
