
Student Aide / Paraprofessional
Location: Kalida Middle School / High School

Hours: 3 to 5 hours per day (Determined by school need)

Job Summary
Kalida Local Schools is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and reliable individual to join our
team as a Student Aide / Paraprofessional at the Middle School/High School building.
In this role, you will play a vital part in our school community by providing direct support to
students with special needs, helping them navigate their school day successfully. Additionally,
you will assist with building-wide supervision and support tasks, such as monitoring students at
lunchtime or within the classrooms.
Key Responsibilities
● Student Support: Assist students with special needs in one-on-one or small-group
settings, helping them with classroom activities, assignments, and daily transitions.
● Classroom Assistance: Partner with teachers to implement student accommodations
and keep students engaged and on-task.
● Student Supervision: Monitor students during lunchtime, in study halls, or during
classroom transitions to ensure safety and encourage positive behavior.
● Building Support: Assist with general daily tasks within the school building as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
● High school diploma or equivalent (Ohio Educational Aide Permit/credentials required
upon hire; the district can assist with this process).
● A warm, patient, and empathetic demeanor with a genuine desire to work with middle
and high school-aged youth.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers,
administrators, and specialized staff.
● Ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and the classroom environment.
● Successful completion of required background checks (BCI/FBI).
