Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Summary

SUMMARY

The Putnam County ESC is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to serve as a full-time behavioral specialist. This position will provide direct support to ESC-operated classrooms, act as a consultant to the nine local school districts of Putnam County and contribute to professional development and systemic behavioral supports. The BCBA will play a key role in helping students with significant behavioral needs succeed in school and preparing educators with tools and strategies to support them.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESC Classrooms

  • Conduct classroom and individual student observations in behavioral and autism units.
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop evidence-based Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Collaborate directly with teachers, classroom aides, and related service providers to implement interventions.
  • Model effective behavioral strategies and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
  • Monitor student progress using data-based decision-making, adjusting interventions as needed.

District Consultation

  • Serve as a behavioral consultant for Putnam County’s nine school districts.
  • Conduct student and classroom observations, develop recommendations, and model effective interventions.
  • Provide a bridge for local districts referring students to ESC classrooms, ensuring smoother transitions and consistent supports.

  • Partner with school administrators and teams to strengthen district-level behavioral supports and interventions.

Professional Development, Data & Compliance

  • Design and deliver professional development for ESC and district staff in evidence-based behavioral practices.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to behavioral programming and student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, FBAs, and BIPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Support the development and monitoring of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS).

Additional Duties

  • Collaborate with families to support consistency between home and school behavioral strategies.
  • Serve on multi-disciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention support, including de-escalation strategies and post-crisis planning.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and ethical standards in behavior analysis and special education.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the mission of the ESC and districts.

 

Experience

QUALIFICATIONS    

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or related field.
  • Current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Experience working in school-based settings is strongly preferred.
  • Strong skills in collaboration, coaching, and communication.
