Business Manager

Summary

Job Summary: The Business Manager performs specialized work in the administration and supervision of human resource and financial services for the Putnam County Board of Developmental Disabilities (PCBDD).  The Business Manager is responsible for the human resources functions of the agency, including the development and administration of policies in accordance with federal, state, and county rules and regulations in the areas of recruiting, employee relations, employee development, equal opportunity, and compensation. The Business Manager is responsible for all financial matters of the Putnam County Board of Developmental Disabilities including, but not limited to, budget preparation, accounts payables and receivables, grants, purchasing, long-range planning, reporting, Board presentations, compliance, and contracts.

Qualifications: Education/Experience Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people, including employees, management, applicants, people who are potentially interested in positions, Board Members, and members of the community.
  3. Experience with State and Federal budget program including Medicaid/Medicare Waiver programs strongly preferred.
  4. Have or be capable of obtaining DODD Business Manager certification.
  5. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license with a record that is acceptable by the agency’s insurance carrier as verified by an annual driver’s abstract.
  6. Must provide proof of liability insurance on personal vehicles.
  7. Master’s degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, or related field, preferred
  8. Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory/management position, preferred.
  9. Four (4) years of public sector personnel or administrative experience, preferred.
  10. Two (2) years of experience in the DD field, preferred.
