Job Summary:
The Laser and Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting machines and press brakes to fabricate metal parts according to specifications provided by blueprints, drawings, or work orders. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Set up and operate laser cutting machines and press brakes to cut and bend metal sheets according to job specifications.
Load and unload materials into the machines, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate cutting and bending.
Monitor machine operations to ensure they are running efficiently and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the production process.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to correct any deviations from the required dimensions or tolerances.
Follow quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet the company’s standards and customer requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience operating laser cutting machines and press brakes in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of precision in cutting and bending operations.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to machine operation and metal fabrication processes.
