Systems Engineer

Summary

Endera was founded with the purpose of making high quality commercial electric fleet vehicles in 2019. Creating the Endera line of all-electric vehicles stems from a belief that our world deserves better. Our founders set out on a mission to build an all-electric commercial vehicle that is dependable, technologically advanced, cost effective, and energy efficient. With a clear goal to guide the way, Endera has grown rapidly and has become the leader in delivering state of the art, high quality commercial electric vehicles to market. We will continue to innovate and do our part to preserve the environment by creating vehicles to reduce carbon emissions.

About the Role
Endera Motors is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design and integration of vehicle systems across electrical, mechanical, and software domains. This role ensures that vehicle-level functionality, safety, and performance targets are met by maintaining clear system requirements, interface definitions, and traceability throughout the product lifecycle. The Systems Engineer will work closely with the electrical, software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure technical alignment, verification, and compliance with internal and external standards.

What You’ll Do
• Develop, decompose, and manage system and subsystem requirements throughout the vehicle architecture.
• Create and maintain interface control documents (ICDs) and system design specifications for major vehicle domains.
• Support development and validation of vehicle-level functions such as propulsion, thermal management, HVAC, and safety-critical systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure alignment between design intent, functionality, and safety compliance.
• Use model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methods to visualize system interactions and dependencies.
• Support development of system-level verification and validation (V&V) plans to confirm requirements coverage.
• Manage change control, versioning, and documentation consistency across disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, FMEA sessions, and hazard analysis to identify risks and ensure robust designs.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, SAE, FMVSS, and Endera internal standards.
• Support supplier and customer technical reviews, ensuring interface and integration readiness.

Experience

What We Are Looking For
• Understanding of systems engineering principles, requirement flowdown, and functional decomposition.
• Familiarity with vehicle subsystems including electrical, mechanical, and software domains.
• Experience in requirements management tools such as Polarion, DOORS, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 21434, or other relevant standards is preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
• Experience developing or reviewing system architectures and interface documents.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in systems or vehicle integration engineering. No sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
• Background in commercial vehicle, EV, or aerospace systems design.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, or Ethernet-based communication networks.
• Experience with requirements verification, validation, and traceability management.
