Profile: Jacob Beck

I started subway early 2005 and worked there until September of 2008. I was an assistant manager at the ottawa location and my responsibilities included training associates, making a schedule, cleaning the bread ovens and food equipment, making sure the deposit was in the safe and getting the store ready for the morning shift. I started working in September 2008 until October of 2019. I was an assistant manager for 3 years and then was a store manager for the remaining 9 years. I ran all 4 stores in Findlay, the store in bluffton, and I helped in Lima and Upper Sandusky. At one time I had 9 stores under me as a temporary district manager. As a store manager my responsibilities where to hire and train associates and new store managers when they were promoted, counting the deposit each day and taking it to the bank as well as making change orders out of it. I had to make sure that the plans for the food and drink locations were up to date and labeled. We had to make sure that our hot food section was cleaned and had temperatures taken. Making sure orders were completed and talking to vendors to facilitate ordering. Customer service was always a priority. We also had to keep the outside lot clean by sweeping and maintaining trash. In October of 2019 I started work at Wal-Mart. I’m still currently employed. I started in ogp which is online grocery picking and delivering. I had to pick a certain amount of items every hour and maintain a certain speed and cleanliness while picking. I also helped down stack, prep, and dispense orders into customers cars. I was on the modular team which are the people who make sure that plans for merchandise are being done correctly. I’m currently a hardlines associate and as such my areas are fabrics and crafts, celebration, stationary, and sporting goods. I’m responsible for selling ammo and hunting and fishing licenses. I have to maintain cleanliness and planogram integrity. I also make sure that freight gets put away as well as any returns.

I was food safe certified for years. I’ve been to many training presentations about management, team building, marketing, and how to prevent losses while at circle k.

I’m just looking for a stable job that would give me the opportunity to learn something new and to challenge myself.
