
The Putnam County Board of Elections is accepting resumes for a Part-Time Clerk (approximately 20hr/wk). Starting wage is $17.00/hr.
The employee will be under general supervision of the Director and Deputy Director. Job duties will be: input, process, and maintain voter records; issue and accept petitions and process filing fees; answer telephone, direct calls, and take messages; provide courteous and professional assistance to the general public, candidates, and elected officials; must be able to perform some physical labor (lift between 20 to 48 pounds) when handling election equipment and supplies; and perform other duties as required. The clerk must be flexible in his or her work schedule and available to work extended hours during elections.
Qualifications for the position are: a registered voter in Putnam County; completion of high school or GED; computer knowledge and clerical experience preferred but not required. A pre-employment drug screening is required and all applicants are subject to a criminal background check.
